Public Accounting - Business Assurance (Audit) Associate - Upcoming Graduates

Moore Colson has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, experienced, and self-motivated Business Assurance (Audit) Associate to join our growing team in Atlanta!

The ideal candidate will have 0 - 2 years of well-rounded experience in business assurance through previous internship experience or working experience within a public accounting firm. Successful candidates will be relationship oriented, upbeat, efficient, a strong communicator, and will have superior organizational skills, and high attention to detail.

Business Assurance Associates will primarily focus on preparing financial statements; account reconciliations; performing audit, review, and compilation procedures as assigned by Senior Associates; performing audits of employee benefit plans; performing financial and IT Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal control procedures; and working as a team member on various consulting projects. Some of our industry niches include manufacturing, distribution, services, real estate, construction, retail, healthcare, technology, and transportation.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Preparing financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with GAAP;
• Performing internal control documentation and testing;
• Assisting Sr. Associates with audits and other related projects;
• Participating in audit, review, compilation engagements, research projects, consulting engagements, or other general consulting work.

The successful candidate will have the following experience and attributes:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting;
• Current CPA license or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam;
• 0-2 years’ experience in the business assurance/audit side of public accounting; Ability and desire to assist in client engagements including planning, executing, and completing audits, and other service offerings;
• Strong Excel skills and well-rounded knowledge of audit and accounting principles;
• Proficiency with CCH Pro fx, CCH Engagement, and IDEA software is considered a plus;
• Consultative approach with a focus on providing superior client service;
• Ability & willingness to travel to client sites as needed;
• Self-directed, autonomous, motivated and ambitious;
• Exceptional and proactive communicator (verbal & written).
